Terms of use

Noah Darwin Lee back

This is one person's website. These are the terms on which you are welcome to use it.

Last updated 3 September 2026. See also the privacy policy.

The short version

Use the site, play the game, keep your flash cards. Do not put anything offensive on the leaderboard, do not attack the site or cheat your way up the board, and do not treat anything here as a service you have bought. It is free, it is maintained when I have time, and it comes with no promises. If you break these terms I may remove your name or your account.

Who these are between

Noah Darwin Lee, who runs noahdarwinlee.com and everything under it, and you, who are using it. There is no company involved. Reach me at noahlee519@gmail.com.

Using the site means these terms apply to you. If you do not want them to, the remedy is to close the tab; nothing here requires an account and nothing is charged for.

What you may do

Read anything. Play citylayoutguessr as often as you like. Use the flash card tool for your own studying, including for teaching and for work. Link to any page here. Quote from the site with attribution.

You do not need permission for any of that, and you will never be asked to pay for it.

What is expected of you

Choose a display name someone would not mind reading. Names that are abusive, slurs, sexual, or that impersonate someone else are refused by the site, and one that gets past it will be changed or hidden without notice.

Play the daily challenge as it is meant to be played. Reading the answers out of the page, automating guesses, or posting scores by any means other than actually playing takes the point out of a leaderboard that exists for fun. Scores got that way will be removed.

Do not attack the site or the database behind it, do not try to reach other people's accounts, and do not scrape it in a way that would cost me money or break it for anyone else. Ordinary use, including heavy ordinary use, is fine.

Sign in only with an account that is yours, and only if you are 13 or older.

Accounts

An account exists so a name can sit next to a score. You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with. You can sign out at any time, change your display name from the game's menu, and have the account and its scores deleted by writing to me — the privacy policy says how.

I may remove a name, hide a profile, delete a score, or close an account that breaks these terms. For anything short of the obvious I will use my judgement, and you are welcome to argue with it by email.

What belongs to whom

The writing, the design, the code and the artwork on this site are mine. You may read them, learn from them and quote them with attribution; wholesale copying of a page or of the game to publish as your own is not invited. If you want to use something here for something of your own, just ask.

The satellite imagery in citylayoutguessr comes from Google Earth and remains the property of its owners; it is used here to point at cities, and it is credited on the game's page.

A display name you choose stays yours. Posting a score gives me permission to show that score and that name on the leaderboard, which is the whole purpose of posting it.

What is not promised

The site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be wrong, it may be down, a puzzle may have a mistake in it, the leaderboard may lose a score, and a browser update may break something that worked yesterday. I fix what I notice and what people tell me about, on no schedule.

Things kept in your browser include a game in progress, your flash card lists, and your colour preferences. live on your device and can vanish when you clear your browser data or switch machines. Anything you would be sorry to lose should be kept somewhere else as well.

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from using the site. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and some places give you rights that no page like this one can take away; where they conflict, your rights win.

Other people's sites

Some pages link out to publications, to my Fuzhounese Dictionary, and to other people's work. Those sites are run under their own terms, and I am not responsible for what is on them.

Which law applies

These terms, and anything arising out of using this site, are governed by the law of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its rules on which other law to apply. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in New York. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim at home instead, that right stands.

Changes and endings

I may change the site, change a game, reset a leaderboard, or take something down. If these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top moves; carrying on using the site after that is how the new version takes effect.

If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still stand.
